Wargamer Jake's DIARY ENTRY | October 1st 2026

For today's diary entry, I would like to share something about my visit in a coffee shop that was about to be closed by the end of October. It's sad to see it closed, but it etched the memories of every coffee lover, movie enthusiasts, fans of Bayaniverse, and every visitor who gets to love to visit their favorite place.

Wargamer Jake here.

In today's diary entry, I would to share with you about paying a visit to a coffee shop that etched every movie goers' hearts. Cinema '76 Cafe looks like a coffee shop but the niche is something else. It may look like a coffee shop to a coffee lover like myself, but when you look inside, it's too good to be true -- a coffee shop and a movie house. I only came to visit this wonderful shop because of one thing, and one thing only comes to my mind -- QUEZON.

While I waited to watch QUEZON, I bought a glass of cafe latte, and wrote a letter to the newly wedded couple, sending them best wishes. I would like to share this picture of the letter to the newlyweds, though the letter is still with me and I keep it as part of my memories with the place. One of the things I like to write is "life is like jack en poy, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose." Then I heard a song from the 1930s called "El Choclo," which I think is a song from the Americas -- most likely Argentinian -- and I thought "marriage is like a tango, and it takes two to tango." In the end, like Jericho Rosales' character Manuel Quezon would say, "GREAT DISPLAY OF GREAT LOVE."

While writing this and waiting, I can imagine myself playing the Philippines in Hearts of Iron IV, which by the way a downloadable content was released on the 90th anniversary of the Commonwealth of the Philippines. NOTE: I cannot imagine that the Philippines can achieve independence in 1941, just through HOI4.

And now that I heard and saw in social media that the shop is closing for good by the end of October, I'm sure it'll be etched etched in the memories of every coffee lover, movie enthusiasts, fans of Bayaniverse, and every visitor who gets to love to visit their favorite place.

So, until the director says IT'S A WRAP, feel free to visit the shop until October 25th.

To Cinema '76 Cafe, thank you for the memories even if it is for one day. I will say this in my native tongue: HANGGANG SA MULI!
